From Repairs to Big Plans: A Busy Wednesday
Wednesday morning. The day started like most others — feeling sleepy after yet another late night.
By 11 a.m., I was still glued to my laptop, editing a new video for my latest YouTube channel, Bot Seed.
At noon, one of my subscribers dropped by with an audio amplifier for repair. The issue was with its Bluetooth panel.
A quick replacement later, and it was back in perfect working order.
Barely had I finished when two more customers arrived — both with amplifiers needing rewiring and restoration.
One of them was a monster: a 5.1 amplifier rated at 900 watts RMS.
A beauty like that must be worth around ₹30,000.
By 2:30 p.m., I finally sat down for lunch and uploaded the video I had worked on earlier in the day.
I now run three YouTube channels. My primary one, Electronics Electrical Malayalam (EEM), has been my main focus for years. Then there’s Alienz Audios, which covers similar audio-related content.
And finally, my newest venture, Bot Seed, which dives into robotics, coding, and AI — something I’ve been passionate about since childhood.
By evening, around 5:30 p.m., the sky turned grey, and a light rain began to fall.
I rushed into my business journey without much thought, but after running the numbers, I discovered I’d been making huge losses since I began taking orders.
So today, I sat down and carefully calculated the costs of building three types of 2.1 audio systems:
1. Premium setup – Two 3-way speakers with 8" woofers (120W/channel), a 12" JBL Stage subwoofer, and a 2.1 amplifier with Bluetooth — ~₹45,000.
2. Mid-range setup – Two 6" 2-way speakers (100W/channel), JBL Stage subwoofer, and the same 2.1 amplifier — ~₹38,000.
3. Budget setup – Two 2-way speakers (max 80W/channel) with a 10" subwoofer and amplifier — ~₹30,000.
The calculations alone took two hours. In the end, I realized that producing just ten units of the same type, at the lowest possible cost, would still require ₹1,30,000 in materials.
Tomorrow’s mission is clear — find a reliable supplier or arrange the funds if credit isn’t an option.
It’s now 11:45 p.m., and for the first time in many days, I’m heading to bed early.
I desperately need the rest; my memory’s been foggy lately, probably from weeks of sleep deprivation.
